Abhyanga is part of the traditional morning routine of dinacharya and is credited with many benefits including helping to recover from injury, prevent injury, improve sleep, improve immunity and balance hormones.
Vinyasa is an approach to asana where the poses are linked to the breath. The poses are continuous. The benefits of the practice come in part, from the mind being turned inward and uninterrupted in that focus for an extended period of time.
Nidra is a guided savasana. It is deep relaxation where it’s said we put the body asleep while keeping the mind awake. It tends to be a healing, restoring and insightful practice. Included among it’s benefits are better sleep and decreased stress.
Philosophy will cover in particular the sutras on Om, it’s importance in yoga and it’s use as a mantra. We will then practice it as mantra- omkar. The benefits of omkar include the consciousness turning inwards and realizing the nature of the Self.’
